Welcome
A team of four friends will be flying off to Central America this November on an epic cycle ride through mountain ranges and rain forests raising money for charity. The name San2San is derived from the cities bookending this cycle challenge; San Jose, Costa Rica and San Salvador, El Salvador.
1000km in 10 days
The challenge will require cycling 1000km, across 4 countries in just 10 days. It is not only the mileage which will present us with difficulties, there will no doubt also be other 'character building' experiences on the trip; the 2000m climbs, the border crossings and the local wildlife (in particular the spiders - a team member suffers from Arachnophobia).
The Team
The four man team is comprised of John Lumley, Alex Snodgrass, Pete Norman and Dan Thut. The San2San is a self-organised and self-funded ride, with no support vehicles etc, and so the San2San is a challenge in every sense.
The Charities
We are riding to raise money for some great causes, please visit our sponsor us page, which contains our Justgiving details. Any donations will be most appreciated.
Track Us
You can also track us as we travel through Central America, find out how by visiting our track us page.
We will also be blogging at san2san.blogspot.com when (if!) we can get access to the internet.
For those of you familiar with Twitter, we will be 'tweeting' as we travel. Find us at twitter.com/San2San09 or check out a Twitter feed on the track us page.
